Hiking in central- and west-Brabant
There are many different options by very varied landscapes when you go hiking in central and west Brabant. You can go to Europe’s largest contiguous area of the Loonse and Drunense dunes, the Oisterwijkse forests and puddles and the west-Brabant waterline with imposing fortresses and natural beauty. Just a few suggestions of the many possibilities.
Vast natural areas
Central- and west-Brabant has the most and largest contiguous nature reserves in the Netherlands. We mentioned the Loonse and Drunense dunes of Utrecht, but also estate den Utrecht located a little south of the city Tilburg. The Chaamse forests or the barony of Breda will show you the region at its best.
Brabant wall
The hiking routes of western Brabant consists of routes through the Barony, the Weide Biesbosch North, Wijde Biesbosch Souts and the Brabant wall. The Brabant wall route will lead you through forests and moorland. You will come across typical Brabantse villages. The wall has some steep parts but is mostly an easy access for every type of hiker. Especially the puddles and nature reserves on the route are an absolute beauty.
