Experience a day out in the Nordhorn zoo

The Zoo, founded in 1950 in the German Nordhorn, is located directly on the Dutch border. In the park there are around 1700 animals spread over approximately 100 different species. You’ll find the most diverse animal species, such as a black cake-prairie dogs, Central American common agouti, Griffon Vultures, seals, zebras and more.

Bosbizon

The symbol of the zoo is the rare bosbizon, which you can admire in this zoo as well. He’s rare to find, even in zoo’s. In total Nordhorn zoo has 6 bosbizons. A bull, two females and three offspring.

Historic farmhouse

You can find a 19^th century farmhouse in the middle of the zoo. Here you can see how the farmers back in the 19^th century lived, what tools they used and you will find the vegetable garden filled with all kinds of beautiful flowers and vegetables. On this farm you can also visit all sorts of on globally threatened breed.
