Walking in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug region
National Park ‘de Utrechtse Heuvelrug’ is a unique hiking area. You wander through the woods and heaths of this unique landscape. You can find a wide variety of animals in this national park. You can also walk around the various castles and estates in the area.
Overwhelming nature
The Utrechtse Heuvelrug region offers about 100 walking routes and 55 km of hiking paths. The height differences in the area are very mild, which makes it possible for all kind of walkers to enjoy the overwhelming nature. It’s possible to combine several walking trails with each other, so that you can make a track that’s the most suitable for you.
Green entrances and castle gardens
Every walking route starts from one of the ports and green entrances. You can park your car here and collect some information about the routes, flora and fauna. Or visit Slot Zeist and Amerongen Castle where you can get a tour and make endless walks in the castle gardens.
